Handles treated with hard oil can be cleaned with a soft cloth moistened with a mild soap and water solution (well wrung out), following the grain of the wood. Do not use synthetic detergents or other harsh cleaning agents.
Oiled wood should also not come into contact with alcohol, as it may become permanently discoloured. If the finish requires restoration, sand and dust off the handle, then reapply two coats of oil.
Colourless hard oil (satin finish) – a natural oil with hard wax. Contains no solvents. Wood treated with this oil is resistant to water and abrasion and retains its light colour for longer (yellows less).
