Frequently asked questions
INSTALLATION OF HANGERS
Each hanger comes with a metal pin and a TRIKA expansion plug. The pin is double-threaded (M5 thread on one end, wood thread on the other). Drill a hole in the wall with an 8mm drill (the hole should be several millimeters deeper than the screw length). Then, insert the plug into the wall, screw in the pin, and screw the hanger onto the pin.
We've designed our hangers to support a minimum weight of 10 kg. Some of our customers purchase DOT Manufacture hangers specifically to hang mirrors with leather straps. The pin and expansion bolt have a load capacity of 15 to 100 kg, depending on the wall type. Be careful when installing the hanger, especially on plasterboard or perforated brick walls.
The included TRIKA plug (8 mm) can withstand loads: in concrete – 100 kg, brick – 80 kg, checkered brick – 30 kg, hollow brick – 25 kg, aerated concrete – 15 kg.
Yes. In this case, you should purchase M5 screws with a length of: the thickness of the board/wood + approximately 1 cm (available at hardware stores).
Yes – the included TRIKA plug is a universal plug, intended for plasterboard walls, among others.
INSTALLING THE HANDLES
We recommend installing the brackets by hand using a screwdriver. We do not recommend using a power screwdriver – overtightening can damage the bracket.
Any deviation of the screws from a right angle will cause lateral forces to be applied to the bracket, which could damage it during installation or use. If the screw is not perpendicular, enlarge the hole by approximately 1 mm. This is especially important for brackets with two-point mounting (two legs).
Each handle comes with a 25mm M4 screw, suitable for fronts up to 18mm thick. For fronts 19-23mm thick, please specify this in the "comments" field when ordering - we will include 30mm screws.
M4 screws should be purchased at a hardware store. Screw length: front thickness + 7–10 mm.
CLEANING AND CARE OF WOODEN AND ENAMELED HANDLES
Oiled wood should not be exposed to water, strong detergents, or alcohol for extended periods. If the handle gets wet, wipe it dry immediately. If alcohol is present, first wipe it with a damp cloth to remove it from the wood surface.
Heavily soiled handles can be cleaned with a soft cloth soaked in a very mild soap solution (wrung well), working in the direction of the grain. Do not use synthetic detergents or harsh chemicals. Then wipe with a dry cloth.
The handle should be sanded, dusted and re-oiled with two layers of oil.
Simply wipe them with a well-wrung cloth and mild detergent. Do not scrub with hard objects.
CLEANING GLASS HANDLES AND KNOBS
For cleaning, we recommend using a soft cloth dampened with a mild detergent solution. Once dry, the glass handles can be polished for a streak-free finish.
