Enameled knobs – Manufaktura's flagship product

Enameling is a technique that the founders of the DOT factory borrowed from goldsmithing. Precision and repeatability of the effect are crucial here. Patience is also crucial, as the technique is labor-intensive. Some designs are painted with a needle.
Enamel is a powder that, when fired, becomes a hard glaze. It is fired on a copper sheet at a temperature of approximately 800 degrees Celsius.

Enamel offers the possibility of using many colors. The range of available shades is limited, but we use enamels from various manufacturers, which is why our palette includes over forty. Each shade has specific characteristics that require a specific approach to enamelling. We then say that enamels have their own "characters." Some require thick layers, others several thin layers, and so on.

SIMPLE knobs, single-color enamelled

This series of knobs combines the contemporary simplicity of form with the tradition of enamel. We offer single-color knobs. Beautiful, deep enamel tones are combined with perfectly polished wood. We designed them with both traditional and modern interiors in mind.

We produce single-color enameled knobs in four basic sizes:

2 cm

2.5 cm

3.2 cm

4 cm.

Our customers can choose from twenty-four shades of knob front colors.

We most often use oak as our base wood. To impregnate the wood's surface, we use a mixture of oil and ecological wax produced in Poland by a small factory, or natural hardwood oil. However, if the client chooses bleached or darkened wood (merbau, wenge, black, or dark oak colors), we use staining oils.

Patterned enameled knobs

Some of them are deeply rooted in contemporary design, while others are inspired by folk art from various cultures. In addition to the designs we offer in our online store, we create many other motifs, fulfilling orders for specific interiors and furniture.

The 4cm diameter white enameled knob supports a custom-designed graphic. We currently present two collections:
– SPACE,
– FACES,
– ALPHABET.

Our enameled graphic knobs are also characterized by the high quality of the graphics applied to them. To provide you with the best product, we collaborate with a porcelain decal factory. This ensures that the detail on each knob is perfectly reproduced. This is made possible by screen printing. Firing the graphics at 820-850 degrees ensures a long-lasting effect.

Łucja Wargulak is an artist living and working in London. She primarily creates illustrations that, through their ambiguity, raise new questions rather than provide answers.

Touanda – this is the pseudonym of Aneta Mlaś, whose primary medium of expression is ink. She creates elaborate graphics that capture the world of emotions. Her works, even those as small as those created for Manufaktura DOT, contain a wealth of important details.
