Kitchen knobs - special order
A while ago, a client approached us with a serious request: she was looking for kitchen knobs with a rustic, slightly antique feel. Much of the trim in her kitchen was copper, and although it was new, rose copper, we knew it would darken over time with exposure to air. How could we choose kitchen knobs that would harmoniously complement the overall design without overdoing the rustic styling?

Repus: old technique on furniture knobs
We decided to offer knobs made using the repoussé method. This is an ancient technique of stamping a raised pattern or design onto a metal sheet from the underside. We placed the fronts made this way on wooden bases oiled in the color chosen by the customer. When we were preparing the order, we only made one or two test knobs, and the result was very satisfying. We don't usually make "aged" items, and we tried to avoid that this time, so we only darkened the finished copper front to bring it closer to the other elements in the kitchen. The technique itself gave the finished knobs a rustic, aged character.
Repoussé of 31 kitchen knobs
The floral design, previously agreed upon with the clients, now had to be made in 31 copies. We must admit, it was a challenge, but such orders and challenges drive and develop us, so we welcome every one with open arms. It took us over a month to complete the entire project from start to finish, as such projects often require special tools, and the technique itself is extremely time-consuming. However, we are certain that it was worth the effort and effort. Customer satisfaction is one indicator of a job well done; another is the way our furniture handles and knobs complement or transform the interior. That's why we're so committed to photos of finished interiors featuring our knobs, which you can view on our website. See for yourself what a repoussé knob looks like and how it looks in the kitchen!
