Seria designerskich uchwytów MODERNA – obrazy czy biżuteria?

A series of designer handles MODERNA – paintings or jewelry?

For a long time, we've wanted to design something unique using enamel. Next to wood, it's our favorite medium. Wood is typically used to shape the form and meet ergonomic needs, while enamel offers a unique way to add color to a knob. The trained eye of design and craftsmanship enthusiasts notices every detail, including the thin copper edge on the front of enameled knobs. Copper, because enamel is a glaze fired on a copper sheet at approximately 800 degrees Celsius.

The first series of mosaic furniture handles references our silver earrings, which we designed and made when we were jewelry makers. A circle cut with three asymmetrical lines. Back then, it was reflected in silver and colored only with oxidation; today, it appears in a colorful version. Moderna also references the history of art, from which we constantly draw, both consciously and unconsciously. We designed it in four color versions. The first, basic one, is based on pure primary colors complemented by white and black. Moderna is a set of two knobs: a larger one measuring 5.5 cm and a smaller one measuring 4 cm. The smaller knobs have a more minimalist pattern on the front. The circle is divided asymmetrically into only two parts.

Elegant blue furniture knobs – Blue Ocean or Classic Blue?

The second version is Moderna Blue. The 5.5 cm diameter knob is a combination of two shades of blue, gray, and white. Like all Modern models, it also comes in a 4 cm diameter. Here, we opted for a combination of white and navy blue.

During the design phase, we considered the knob for both oak furniture and fronts with single-color veneers. Moderna looks great on each of these fronts thanks to its color scheme, which combines white with colors. Depending on the color scheme, it gives simple, modern furniture a very different character. From the very expressive and bold Moderna in the basic version (red, black, white, yellow, navy blue) to the delicate, fresh Moderna Pastel as the main character.

Designer furniture handles in the interior

We had the opportunity to create a set of enamel knobs for a client who mounted them on a cabinet, but not individually. She arranged them into a composition and mounted several or a dozen on a single door, creating a sort of graphic design, and sent us photos. Needless to say, we were surprised. We were also surprised when another client sent us photos of sample enamel shades framed and hung on the wall. So we're not the only ones who associate our knobs with paintings. We're curious to hear your interpretations of Modern. And as always, we'll be waiting for photos of your interiors...
